Active and recent projects:
snwv is a project to create ambient environments from oscillating sources: currently that's vibrating guitar strings and a multi-delay patch I've been developing in Max/MSP. Earlier work involved sine wave oscillators, audience input, or feedback, processed using Max or Pure Data.
This work started as a series of experiments with the audio software I was designing. It then branched into installation and live performance, adding microphones for room input, and ultimately instruments.
In 2017, I did a short series of livestream performances. In the spring of 2020, I started a livestream performance series on Monday evenings, and releasing the performance a few days later. Currently there are over 320 of these.

I'm a musician, sound artist, and Deep Listening Certificate holder based in Pittsburgh. I've played hundreds of shows as a solo performer, though also as a member of ensembles. I've been active in live performance since 2001.
Some notable activities have been
- Circuits of Steel tour in 2003
- recording sessions and performances for Glenn Branca's Symphony No. 13 (first version in 2004 and second version in 2006)
- installations at the two International Conferences on Deep Listening (2013 and 2014)
- live performances at PRF events in Chicago, Michigan, Texas, and Wisconsin in 2011, 2012, 2017-2020, 2023, 2025-2026
In 2014, I started participating in the Weekly Beats community, which encourages weekly recording and composition. In the last few years I've been concentrating on trios and quartets for un-effected or minimally-effected electric guitars. There's a lot of tonal variety available with just fingers. My released recordings since 2023 have been compilations of these ongoing pieces.

The Bureau of Nonstandards was a collaboration between Kevin C. Smith (circuit-bent devices) and me (live remixes in Ableton Live) that ran from 2007 to 2011, when Kevin moved from Pittsburgh. A compilation from early shows and archives of later shows is available on Bandcamp.
A live no-input project with pedals only. It's been some years since I released something this way, but this show was evocative.
Improvised rock with Ryan Sigesmund on drums and percussion and me on guitar. We performed a number of shows in Pittsburgh in the 2000s. The band didn't break up, but paused.
Improvisation with Pittsburgh's premier performance artist and accordionist Steve Pellegrino. We remain unindicted.
Site History
This site launched in 2003 as a music hosting and download sales site using BitPass, an early micropayments vendor. When that vendor ceased operations, this site became informational only, directing to other sales platforms.
In 2024, my web host EOL'd the version of the scripting language this site used, and I migrated to HTML only.
Now in the second half of 2026, it's time for a redesign that doesn't require continual updates to embedded iframes.
